Starting from August 6, artists from Xiangxi Wulingshan Ethnic Literature and Art Transmission Center, Xiangxi Prefecture Ethnic Cultural Center and other cultural venues came to Xiaoxi National Nature Reserve to show its rich cultural tourism resources through articles and photos.
The Xiaoxi National Nature Reserve is located in the southeast of Yongshun County, with a large area of subtropical low-altitude evergreen broad-leaved primary secondary forest growing within the area.
There are a variety of rare plant species in the area, including 43 national first and second-level key protected plants such as Chinese dove trees, Chinese yew and Tapiscia. There are also 68 national protected animals such as leopards, clouded leopards, and white necked and long-tailed pheasants in the primary secondary forest.
It has been verified by authoritative experts and scholars as the only natural resource treasure trove of primary secondary forests in the thirteen provinces of Central and Southern China that has been spared from the invasion of Quaternary glaciers.
